History Lesson & My Truths.

I realize that when our country was founded back on July 4, 1776, the population was predominately christian and thus our country was founded on such. However in the 234 years that separates those fine men that wrote and signed our Declaration of Independence, a lot of things have changed.

This happened long before microwave ovens, Cheez Whiz, Margarita's. This happened way before Democrats and Republicans were formed. This was the ground work for something that was supposed to be AMAZING, a melting pot of all sorts of people to come together, be united and live free. However freedom we have found out, only comes to those in the right click, club or color.

America keeps evolving in a slow long slur taking forever and ever to actually be "for the people". What is "for the people"? Which people?

Since 1776 the popular "Christians" have declined. In 2008 only 76% of the USA considered themselves Christian. 15% of Americans do not follow any organized religion. This leaves 9% of Americans that are either Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Wiccan or other such desired religions. (or so one study said)

My point being this, even though Christianity is still the most popular choice should that throw all the other Americans under the bus? I believe that 24% of the American people who are of different cultures, religions etc should have equality.

Out of the 76% that "say" they are Christians, this doesn't mean that they go to church or contribute to society in a "christian" manner. This is just what they check in a box, or tell their friends. I'd like to actually meet a true by "the book" christian.. the kind that doesn't pass judgement or talk about you harshly to their congregation..the peaceful, loving kind that the bible actually discusses. Hmm. Anyway I'm off subject. Let's see.

Bringing me to Separation of Church and State..or so I thought.

The country was founded on religious ideals but the USA isn't a holy land, not 234 years later. We have evolved and for the better. Since then Women can vote, Martin Luther King Jr. existed, African Americans can actually be Americans and not slaves, Megan's Law was formed and The Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act was set in place.

We are moving forward, but like I said very slowly. Since we have been evolving the Separation of Church and State was in thought to evolve also. However even though it is stated many times throughout our American History that there is a such separation we still politically get "God" or "Religion" Shoved down our faces as politics blur the lines on personal morals and actual law.

What ever happened to what Thomas Jefferson said?

"...no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor shall be enforced, restrained, molested, or burthened in his body or goods, nor shall otherwise suffer on account of his religious opinions or belief; but that all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinion in matters of religion, and that the same shall in no wise diminish enlarge, or affect their civil capacities."

Was this only said for his "click" or did this mean "all men"?

What happens is politicians make it a personal attack when it's not. I think that politicians shouldn't talk about their personal lives or religious afflictions. Politics is supposed to be about the good of the people, not what they "personally" think is good for them. This is why we are in America to make our own choices, because we are "free".

I'm glad I am free to wake up when I want to, pick out shamrock socks first thing in the morning, which kind of cereal I wish to intake, how long I can shower for, where I can work, what I can do for a living, that I can pick a charity to support, that I can go to a store and get whatever I desire, and then i hit that wall. You know the separation wall between church and state the one that doesn't really exist because all the "christian" politicians. The wall that separates me from loving, from marrying and having a child, you know the one that takes away my rights and desires and separates me from my dreams and goals. The wall that mocks, torments and tortures.

I'm sure you may or may not know the wall. If you are heterosexual you are probably rolling your eyes and saying something like "It's always something", "Can't she just shut up already".. easy for you to say while your fucking your boyfriend, husband, fiance in ready made Hetero land where you are afraid we will convert your children, steal your wife and take over the world.. Muhahahahaha!

So why is it so hard for people to move forward, especially Americans? Will there ever be a TRUE separation of church and state?

So. Here's the truth. Or my truth.

There are Gay Republicans, your children are going to have pre-marital sex, there will be abortions, Homosexuals did exist back in 1776 and will continue to exist even if you choose to ignore us.

We aren't going anywhere. We will continue to fight until we break down that wall. When all people are equal, that's when we will cease to be a burden to the heterosexual universe that America truly is. America is destined to be an amazing place, but it needs all her people to survive and stop hate. Embrace us because we are proud to be here, we just want and need to be heard and respected.

Short Hair Sir's & Gender Queers - Oh, My!

Why is it, that if you are tall and have short hair that your instantly a man? I know there is a huge stigma about "butch" lesbians and their hair. I don't consider myself to be "butch" I actually identify more with gender-queer, but anyway back to my point. Daily people call me "sir", if I correct them they look at me as if I am stupid, so most of the time I don't.

When I am unsure of a person's gender I try to use gender neutural pronouns. Is it ignorance or the lack of attention that people pay to one another that causes such confusion?

If someone took the time to actually look at me, they would notice that yes, I do dress gender neutural leaning towards "men's clothing", however if you look you will see that I have tits, and if you listen you will realize I do not have a deep voice but wider hips and a feminine facial structure minus the adam's apple.

Speaking of tits, mine are not huge however I know other gender queer females who have DD, DDD + tits and people still call them "sir". It's very confusing to me as a gender-queer that being as I have tits, does most of society think they are man boobs? Ew.

The fact is that people want to lump everyone into a catergory. Boy. Girl.

Sometimes when I look at people I tend to look at them without a gender. I wonder if others think like I do. When I see someone interesting, I don't care what they happen to identify as but I want to respect them for who they want to be. Not to offend them or give them reason to sit and question the same things I do.

Will society change?

When did they pass a law that said if you wear jeans, polo, and a baseball cap then you must be a man? I think most of people's confusion on the matter would end if they just didn't pass so much judgment. So what, I got the tom-boy gender-queer short hair sir gene deal with it..Because we deal with them and all their straight glory.

Being queer is fabulous.

Free & Uncensored

I would love to introduce myself, expose myself and will to an extent. My name is A.Lez-Beyond,(play on words)however, you can call me A. I, like many other individuals am part of the LGBTQ culture. I in my unmasked life come across many challenges but have no oulet to where I can state my frustrations and or accomplishments without some form of personal retribution.

I am fairly accomplished. I am educated, have a fairly good life. Let's just say things can always be better and I am hoping that this blog will allow me to communicate in a way that I yet haven't been "allowed".

I recently watched the movie "Julie and Julia" and was prompeted to think that blogging may be a way to best fullfil my inner-most desires in communicating with others regarding issues in the LGBTQ community and the problem of homophobia worldwide. Although I do not expect a grand following, I am doing this for my own well being, sanity, inner mo-jo whatever you would like to call it.

Journaling has been a past obsession, I used to journal but became untrue to myself. I want to challenge myself to stay true to my feelings and express my emotions as they flow through my fingertips. I do not want to hold back, I want to explore the up's and the down's, in's and out's, good and bad of myself. unplugged & raw. I want to see the rollercoaster unfold before me and embrace it.
